Refund policy

We want you to be happy with your Rhino-Rack, MAXTRAX or TRED gear. This policy explains your rights under South African law, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Nothing in this policy limits those rights.

1. Changed your mind? 7-day cooling-off period

You may cancel an online order, without giving a reason, within 7 days of receiving the goods. To qualify, items must be:

  • unused, not fitted or installed on a vehicle, and not drilled, cut or modified;
  • complete, in the original, undamaged packaging with all parts, hardware and instructions.

You pay only the direct cost of returning the goods to us. We refund the full purchase price within 30 days of receiving your cancellation, to the original payment method.

2. Faulty or damaged goods

If an item is defective, you may return it within 6 months of delivery and choose a repair, replacement or refund, as provided by section 56 of the CPA. We pay the courier costs for faulty returns. Many products also carry a manufacturer's warranty (for example, the MAXTRAX lifetime warranty against faulty materials and workmanship), which we will help you claim.

The CPA warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, overloading beyond the rated load limit, accidents, misuse or normal wear and tear.

3. Damaged in transit or wrong item sent

Please check your parcel on delivery and tell us within 48 hours if anything is damaged, missing or incorrect. Send photos to sales@rhinorack.africa and we will arrange a replacement or collection at our cost.

4. Special-order items

Items marked "Special order" are ordered in for you. Your cooling-off and faulty-goods rights above still apply.

5. How to return an item

  1. Email sales@rhinorack.africa or call 011 958 5235 with your order number and the reason for the return.
  2. We will confirm the return and send you the return address and instructions.
  3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging.
  4. Once we receive and inspect it, we will process your refund, repair or replacement and let you know.
